Care of Your Sign

Let me start by asking you, would you stay at a hotel that had a sign like the one above? Probably not. That’s because signs are a great way to get noticed, but if your sign isn’t maintained properly, you’ll get noticed for all the wrong reasons. To make your sign not only last as long as possible, but to also continuously look good, it is important to take proper care of your sign. Here are some basic tips that will keep your signs looking great and to get you noticed for ALL the RIGHT reasons!

  • If your sign, whether it be a banner, magnet or real estate sign, ever gets dirty, clean it with warm soapy water and a sponge or cloth. Never immerse your sign in the water.
  • When not in use, store your signs in a cool area. Storing the sign in a hot area, such as a car, could cause the graphics to separate from the substrate.
  • When not in use, store your signs out of direct sunlight. Continuous exposure to direct sunlight will cause the graphics to fade.
  • When not in use, roll banners with the graphic facing in. Folding a banner could cause the graphics to separate from the material. Rolling the graphics inward insures that the graphic will not get damaged or scratched.
  • For almost any other material, such as magnets, it is best to store them on a flat surface.
