Signage Tips For Your Business

If you own a business or an organization that benefits from new visitors and customers, you’d most likely really benefit from investing in great signage.

But just a quick drive through your city or your neighborhood will reveal to you that signage options available to you are virtually infinite. There’s so much to choose from, and so many signs and billboards already competing for people’s attention.

Choosing a sign that will get your business the attention it deserves might seem like a truly overwhelming choice. If you don’t know a lot about signage, you might be putting it off.

Luckily for you, at Pinnacle Signs and Graphics, we know a little something about signs– and we’ve compiled some tips to help you figure out what signage will work best for your unique business and its customers.

Know thyself

This isn’t a self-help article in the traditional sense, but some self-knowledge goes a long way when it comes to figuring out business graphics.

In order to determine what kind of sign you should go with for your business, you should consider:

  • What product(s) or service(s) am I selling?
  • Who is buying them?
  • What are my customers like, and where do they live?
  • Where do they buy my products and services?

For example: “I’m selling children piano lessons. While their parents are the ones paying for the lessons, the children are the ones using the products. They live in my area, and the lessons and sales happen here at my business, not online.”

These answers are incredibly helpful pieces of information when it comes to figuring out your signage strategy.

Your place of business is a brick-and-mortar location where the lessons take place, so your main focus should be on creating a great sign (one that a strictly-online business wouldn’t necessarily need).

Additionally, your sign should be appealing to kids– bright, vibrant graphics in primary colors. You don’t need to go “full Disney” with it, but something bright and eye-catching will benefit your target audience, and getting people’s attention on your sign is the main goal.

What’s everybody else doing?

Ever heard the old saying “keep your friends close, and your enemies closer”? We’re not suggesting that your business competitors are necessarily your enemies, but it is a good idea to keep an eye on what others in your industry are doing.

Who’s offering similar services to you in your area? Do they seem to get more attention and traffic? Pay attention to what they’re doing that seems to be working– or not working. This can help you develop a strategy for your own business, allowing you to stand out.

Conduct some visual research

Once you have a good idea of who your sign should be appealing to, you can get started on the visuals. It’s okay if you’re not a professional designer– at Pinnacle Signs & Graphics, our design team can help your small business in Little Rock look its best.
